Hi, im new and just downloaded gimp. i don't know how to open the program. i downloaded it from the website and installed it, but then nothing happened and i can't figue out how to open it. I have windows vista. any assistance would be grately appreciated!!

You may better ask to the gimp-user list or on www.gimptalk.com
But adding more details
as example
1 you have a icon, click on the icon does'nt start the program ?
2 if not enter in Program Files/gimp/ bin and click on gimp.exe works or not ?
if 2 works just right click on gimp.exe chose -create shortcut on the desktop - to get a clickable icon for a quick start
