Is it possible to recover unsaved files on GIMP!!!????

I accidently exited out of the file instead of savin cuz some onekept pestering me....if there is an way to recover a file that wasn't saved please tell me....i worked on that thing for like 5 hrs straight....and yeah i should have saved but i kept getting destracted cuz im a perfectionist.....
If anyone knows ANY way to get back a unsaved file after exiting GIMP please message me at Rock_Lover01@hotmail.com....or reply on here however u do that idk....i just really really want and need that file back like ASAP.....

If there isn't a way just tell me....so i can start over....i just want a flipping answer....and i want one like ASAP. I have asked on yahoo and aol and other Gimp forums and no one seems to be nice enough to tell me anything....i just was a simple yes or no....and if there is then a sentence or two on how to retrieve it...thats ALL im askin.....

quickly save a backup copy

Sorry, but as far as I'm aware, there isn't a recover option (yet). If there was an autosave function (plug-in, or script) then you'd be able to retrieve it, but I haven't heard of one. I hate it when GIMP crashes...
