GIMP Plugin Registry

I'm trying to accurately bend an image to match a shape on another layer and wondering if there's a working plugin that can do that.

I was thinking that it would be useful to be able to create an open ended path and export it to the 'curve bend' filter but I don't think this is possible which is a shame.

Has anyone got any suggestions?
